Sand Hopper Done

There it is, the Tamiya Sand Hopper. It’s a Grasshopper sporting a Blitzer Beetle body, painted in Sand Scorcher box-art livery. Conspicuously absent are the rear cage and stinger exhaust, but I’m calling it done for now.

Very nice! I was once a Tamiya collector, never had a Sand Hopper. My best piece was a Mazda 787B car new in box, the box was slightly battered. I sold nearly my whole collection a few years back. Sigh.

nice car,I acquired a new grasshopper for the tires and speed controller for my 80s SS as it was only a little bit less to purchase them separately. Now I would like and SS replica to be a bit more rough with. How did you make the brackets thanks

    hey man,
Awesome build! I am doing the exact same thing with mine… only difference is, I actually finally finished my rear cage! I’ll send some pix if you send me your email.

    later,
    Tim

Hi, that is an awesome SS replica, really well executed. I’ve decided to have a go at one myself as a result of this blog! It would be much appreciated if you could email me some pics of the body mounts and cage etc, etc for reference. I shall look forward to any more updates on this!

Thanks and keep up the great work
