Could you tell the visitors about your Lure?

My lure is a mermaid playing a Ukulele. I picture a fisherman pulling some giant whopper of a fish out of the sea and hearing the faint tinkle of music. When he slices the fish open, there is a tiny mermaid inside sitting on the fish's liver, strumming her ukulele and sweetly singing a shanty.

How did you end up being an artist?

I come from a family of artists. My father is an illustrator, my mother is a painter, and my brother is an animator. I had no choice but to pursue art.

Who are some of your greatest artistic influences?

I like Edward Gorey, Mark Ryden, Mary Blair, John William Waterhouse, Seonna Hong, and Yashitoma Nara, to name an eclectic few.

What music do you have in heavy rotation right now?

I usually listen to podcasts of "This American Life" while painting.

What do you do for fun?

I go on long introspective walks in the woods with my tiny dog.

When was the last time you went fishing?

I have clear memories of catching crayfish in the creek as a child, but I'm not sure if I've actually ever been fishing.

Do you have any words of wisdom for new or aspiring artists?

Do art that you like. Maybe other people will start to like it too.
